Telašćica is a bay and natural park on the southeastern part of the island of Dugi Otok that is located just off the beautiful Dalmatian Coast, west of Zadar. As one might imagine, such a wealth of natural beauty and lovely landscapes means that there are lots of different outdoor pursuits to be enjoyed in Telašćica Bay. Hiking and swimming are both very popular activities in the area with plenty of places to go for a dip between the lake and the various beaches. Hiking, in addition to being fun in its own right, is also the only way to get to some parts of the bay as cars are not allowed past a certain point. If you want to take in the truly incredible views afforded by the bay, you'll likely have to work for it a bit beforehand but the pay-off is definitely worth it! Going snorkelling is also highly recommended but be sure not to interrupt the local marine life as it is protected. Boat trips, particularly on yachts, in the area are also highly recommended and offer the most luxurious and relaxing way to experience the bay with various chartering companies offering different packages.
