A direct exit leads to the garden, while another exit opens onto the terrace and the swimming pool. 2 shower rooms with WC complete the bathroom facilities on this level.
The upper floor, accessible via an exterior staircase, features its own independent living and dining area, also furnished in a comfortable and inviting style. We loved staying at Amber. We had never been to Calpe before.
For us it was perfect as we were 2 families and both floors were self contained with their own kitchens and living areas. The air conditioning was a god send as most days it reached 29-31c. We all absolutely loved the pool and the area was a lovely quiet residential area. One down side was there was no oven in either kitchen. Also there were a lot of mosquitoes, especially around the barbecue area.
It was possible to walk into the centre of Calpe in about 20 minutes but the walk back was tougher being all uphill (some very steep) so we would get a taxi. There was a much more pleasant, quiet beach closer to us but again it was about 15 mins tough walk (especially coming back) and it was difficult in the heat to be out walking.
There was lots of shopping and dining opportunities in the town. The beach front was always busy but very pleasant at night even in the crowds.
It would be a good idea to have information on the area printed and left in the villa for visitors to look at. Taxi number etc. You couldn't pre-book a taxi. You phone when you wanted to be collected from the villa and they would arrive within 5 mins. However from the town you needed to get the taxi from a taxi rank which could be busy and you might need to wait quite a while. Even if you rang a taxi for collection at the rank the taxi would take the person first in line even if that wasn't you. Just be warned :-)
