Outdoors

The outdoor setting of this log cabin is truly one of its defining features, with Lake Jolmalompolo located just 20 meters from the property. The lake's shoreline is characterized by a quickly deepening sandy bottom, offering direct water access from the cabin's immediate surroundings. A rowing boat and a private pier are available for guests to enjoy, providing the perfect starting point for leisurely excursions on the water. From Lake Jolmalompolo, there is direct water access to the larger Lake Raanujärvi, situated approximately 600 meters away, opening up further possibilities for exploration and recreation on the water. Starting from Midsummer 2026, a wood-fired lakeside sauna with a dedicated changing room will also be available for guests to enjoy as part of the outdoor experience. Please note that the sauna is supplied with water carried by hand, preserving the authentic and rustic character of this lakeside retreat.

Other Information

The cabin does not currently include a sauna, though as noted, a wood-fired lakeside sauna with a changing room will be made available beginning Midsummer 2026. Dogs are welcome at the property for an additional pet fee, while cats are not permitted on the premises.

The cabin is situated 43 km southeast of Pello and 60 km northwest of Rovaniemi, placing it within reasonable driving distance of 2 well-known towns in the Finnish Lapland region. Rovaniemi, widely recognized as the official hometown of Santa Claus and the administrative capital of Lapland, offers a wide range of cultural attractions, restaurants, shops, and year-round activities, making it an excellent destination for day trips. Pello, located to the northwest, provides additional local amenities and services for guests staying in the area. The surrounding landscape, defined by pristine lakes and unspoiled Nordic nature, offers outstanding opportunities for fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife observation throughout the seasons.
