The building first served as a restaurant, with the accompanying structure originally functioning as a grand restaurant and ballroom for dancing, hosting various events where guests would arrive via a small train station named Skaerven to enjoy beach bathing, dinner, and evening entertainment. The property later housed the diabetes association, which converted it into a vacation facility for children with diabetes to learn proper eating habits and insulin administration. In 1999, new owners transformed part of the restaurant into three beautiful two-bedroom apartments, and many famous Danes have stayed at this beloved Nyborg landmark due to its fascinating history and exceptional location. The property is situated directly on the sandy beaches of Nyborg, recognized as the third cleanest in all of Denmark, in a city that once served as the capital of the country. Nyborg is positioned in the middle of Denmark on the island of Fyn, being the first city over the large bridge connecting Sjælland and Fyn, approximately one hour and twenty minutes from Copenhagen by car or train, and roughly two hours by car from Germany's northern border to Denmark. The location offers convenient access to Odense, just twenty minutes away by train, and an hour and a half to LegoLand.
