Outdoors

The outdoor areas of Masseria Grotta Antica are a celebration of the Apulian landscape, extending across approximately 5,000 sqm of terraced grounds planted with olive trees and Mediterranean shrubs, enclosed by dry-stone walls approximately 100 cm high. The garden offers multiple outdoor dining areas thoughtfully positioned across the estate: one is located at the exit of the ground floor of the masseria, adjacent to an external kitchen, while a second dining area sits in front of the trullo, shaded by a parasol for comfortable alfresco meals. A stone barbecue is available near the swimming pool, perfect for leisurely outdoor dining in the warm Puglian evenings. The non-heated swimming pool is a striking rectangular structure measuring 11.50 x 3.50 m with a depth of 1.40 m, finished with plaster and accessed via a masonry staircase that leads onto a shallow sunbathing area. The pool is equipped with a skimmer filtration system with sand filter and chlorine treatment, and features internal lighting with spotlights for evening ambiance. It is located approximately 20 m from the main villa, surrounded by stone walls and Mediterranean vegetation, and is open from the first Saturday of April to the last Saturday of October. The sunbathing area is furnished with sun loungers and a parasol. An external solar shower and a washbasin are also available for your convenience. Please be aware that the property photographs were taken in spring, and therefore the flowering and the colours of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.

The main building, the masseria, spans 2 floors connected by external stairs and covers a total interior surface area of approximately 280 sqm together with the trullo. A remarkable feature of this floor is the ancient palmento, a wine press carved entirely from rock and now restored as a wellness area housing a heated indoor hydromassage pool measuring 3x2 m with a depth of 55 cm, illuminated by internal lighting. Within these rock-hewn spaces, a service bathroom and a room with shower have also been created. On the first floor, a living room serves as the central gathering space, accompanied by 1 double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with shower, 1 additional double bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, 1 room with a single armchair bed, and a dedicated laundry room. The independent trullo annex houses 1 single bedroom, offering a private and characterful retreat within the estate.
