The yard is level and grassed, situated 30 metres from the Alaluosta road, and features a patio area complete with a garden swing, a table, and chairs, offering a welcoming space for leisure and al fresco meals. A storeroom is also available among the yard buildings for practical storage needs. A rather steep grassed slope descends from the cottage terrace down to the river bank, where you will find a roofed grill area equipped with a barbecue grill and a fish smoking oven, ideal for preparing freshly caught fish in a traditional manner. The river shore at this point is described as soft and rather deep, making it suitable only for confident swimmers. However, a shallow sandy shore is accessible 3 kilometres away at Lake Ala-Luosta, where a boat is available for your use, providing a safer and more family-friendly bathing option. The surrounding landscape offers excellent berry and mushroom picking areas, and the River Luostanjoki is particularly well-regarded as an ideal destination for canoeing.

Fishing is a highlight of the natural surroundings, with the river offering the opportunity to catch perch and pike. Rainbow trout is stocked in the river annually.
