We stayed at Torre del Cielo for a week starting May 24, 2009. The location was excellent. We stayed in a small village with a great view of the countryside. We visited Assisi , Cortona , Florence , Lucca , Gubbia , Chianti Country and several smaller communities. Our host Rosaldi was extremely helpful. He gave us several suggestions for interesting midevil towns to explore. He also took us on a private tour of a monastery where Francis of Assisi stayed. It was remarkable the information we received on Francis life. The house had 5 large bedrooms , each with a private bath. Even though the property was old the condition of the rooms was clean and very attractive. The large pool was clean and we went swimming several times. There was an economical market in the small town near us where the owner greeted us with hugs and kisses. We made several meals in the fully furnished kitchen. The living room was great. There were 3 table areas that each accommodated all 8 of us. We ate mostly outside of the kitchen in the garden area. He has a beautiful rose garden. We also ate inside and at the pool area. My favorite thing to do was to watch the sun rise from atop the watch tower. Our host meet us at the nearest town to show us the villas location. He was always available to help us in any way. We had neighbors but none very close and they were friendly. It was the perfect location to see both Umbria and Tuscany. There is a washing machine but no dryer. You dry the clothes on a drying rack. Be warned that leaving clothes out in the direct sunlight can cause discoloration. In the shde the drying rack works fine. The only criticism might be the beds (which one couple thought was too hard-the others had no concerns) and the rooster in the morning. All of this made it better for us. We could not have picked a better vacation spot or better host.

We spent a week on our "grandparents" vacation at the Palazzo Rosadi beginning May 23, 2009 with our daughter, and her husband, his parents and our two granddaughters. It was a marvellous week. The Rosadis are friendly and accomodating. The house, the grounds, the pool are everything the pictures show and more. The countryside is what we dreamed Tuscany should be.
You will need a car and if possible, rent an automatic. Driving a manual transmission on the steep hills and tight parking spots is simply not fun. We took day trips to marvellous towns. Pienza was our favorite for its beauty and ease of parking which can be a major problem in other towns. Monterchi is a delight. We ate a very good dinner at the La Vecchis Osteria in the village. The owner of the only small grocery store makes his own wine which was surprisingly good.
We ate a very good, but expensive, dinner at the Risterante da Alighiero in the nearby town of Anghiari. The owner chef is from Germany and her husband offers an excellent wine menue.
We oviously recommend Plazzo Rossadi!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the tower and recommend it to all who would like to spend their holiday, or at least part of it, directly in San Gimignano. You don't feel like a tourist when staying there. First class views and the facilities in the tower are excellent. I was treated very kindly by the discrete owners (Giulia in particular). I would happily go back. Understand the tower's origins and you won't have any problems with steps etc, rather you will appreciate, value, and enjoy it.

GPS coordinates are N 43.39761, E 10.90838. The access track (rough) is off the SR439, approx 1 mile north of the SR68. Municipal rubbish bins may be found 50 yards past the Volterra town sign, on the left.

Helpful friendly staff, there is even a nice bbq area for common use. There is no such panoramic view from the terrace as one could suggest, if you know for example southern tuscany and lonely villas there. Bu tnice and clean, woul recomment to only book Bigattiera 4 as that is the only one with a terrace. With this kind of weather, an must imho. Very nice pool area, kid's pool, walking grounds, overall rating 9/10. Ideal solution for couples with no kids.
One minus point for the not panoramic view.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PROPERTY! We wanted an "out of the way", rustic farmhouse, but with some of the comforts of home and this was the place. This was far enough away from Florence that you felt like you were in the country, but close enough for fun in town. The owner's were delightful and non-intrusive. We had most of our meals in the well-appointed kitchen and were able to have friends over for a couple of cookouts by the pool. Simply fantastic experience!

Have just got back from a lovely holiday in Tuscany. What a lovely villa we stayed in. It is located within a vinyard and in private grounds. Loved the swimming pool and the bbq area. An easy drive to the local supermarkets and attractions. Loved seeing the fireflies at night. Could not have hoped for a better place for me and my family to stay. Everything was perfect.

Villa Fabbroni was absolutely wonderful. We rented the apartment La Fattoria in late May, and despite the fact there was no air conditioner, we were very comfortable. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were incredibly well-kept, and the hosts were better than you could ever ask for! They really made the stay very enjoyable. Their dog Raul also added to the enjoyment of the stay--what a great pet! The villa is well-situated, not far from the SS222 (Chianti Road), and is a hop skip and jump away from many vineyards to tour. The road to the villa is a bit nerve-wracking, but you get used to the drive after a day or two. What an enjoyable experience! If we have the opportunity, we will definitely be staying at La Fattoria again.

Very kind and warm welcome by Claudia with a huge bowl of delicious strawberries and peaches that lasted us all week. Beautiful old stone house in a lovely quiet area; nice and quite. The pool is the highlight, everything has been treated with great love and care. If you want to wind down and just enjoy peace and tranquillity, this is paradise.
