Discover The Incredible Beauty Of Croatia's Blue Grotto

Bisevo Cave
The Blue Cave on Bisevo Island in Croatia is one of the world's most beautiful and intriguing natural phenomena. It is like a stepping (or should we say floating, as you enter by boat) into an entirely different world or an alien world, in particular. The rocky grotto, only recently opened to the public, is a cave that is famous as one of the great natural beauties of the Adriatic. At certain times of day, sunlight enters the cave through a crack in the stone and creates a light effect by refracting, illuminating the whole cave with a magical blue light. A visit is definitely a highlight of any holiday in the are,a so find a vacation rental in Dalmatia (perhaps a vacation rental in nearby Split) and pencil in a trip.
To get to the cave, one must first make their way to Vis, via ferry from Split. Once there, you take a bus or some other means of transport across the island to the tiny fishing town of Komiza. From here you sign up for a tour or hire a bus to take you to the island of Bisevo, about an hour boat ride from Komiza. Then you take another, smaller, boat to the cave as it needs to be able to enter the tiny cave entrance.

This may seem like quite the trek but the journey itself is quite beautiful and what awaits on the other side is more than worth it. It's hard to really capture its beauty in photographs and anyone who comes away from it is swayed.

Crouching in the centre of the boat, your party will arrive inside the cave between 11 and 2pm, for a spectacular show of the bright blue glowing effect, created by the sun’s rays entering the water and reflecting off the limestone floor of the cave.

For one of the most magical experiences in Croatia, it is a must!
