Playa de Mónsul, or Mónsul Beach, is often considered by many to be one of the best beaches in Spain and the best beach in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. Tenuous as the nature of such claims can be, however, it is certain that it is the most famous beach in the area. Put on the map in 1989 by Steven Spielberg with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and its closing scenes, it became an internationally renowned strip of the coast. Furthermore, it is located adjacent to another famous beach of the Cabo de Gata, the lovely Genoveses Beach. Large, spacious, naturally beautiful and child-friendly, there are plenty of reasons to choose to visit this picturesque beach.
