One of the best things about Dubrovnik is the landscape of the city itself. The old town, by the harbour, as made so iconic by Game of Thrones, is charming and atmospheric. Restaurant 360 is a fascinating culinary gem that is set within the great walls of Dubrovnik themselves and takes in one of the most famous views of the city, overlooking the port with the walls and architecture of the city in the background.
Established by Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, who invested several million euros in the restaurant, it was spearheaded by his private chef Gilles, a Frenchman that named the place after himself. Sadly, the restaurant was too pretentious for customers and the food failed to impress and it quickly didn't pan out as a successful business venture.
Jeffrey Vella, a Maltese-Croatian chef came along, took over, renamed the restaurant 360 by Jeffrey Vella and the setting and great food meant that it flourished. When he left Croatia in 2014, 360 lost his name but continued his success and is now a popular upmarket restaurant for tourists under Chef Marijo Curić.
The menu makes use of traditional flavours with surprising twist and features locally sourced produce from Croatian regions. While things change constantly, seafood, modern Mediterranean dishes and innovations of Croatian classics are constant features and there is an extensive wine menu. Perhaps a tiny bit over-priced, you are really paying for the setting and it is an extraordinary dining experience with the best seats in town! Closed on Mondays, they are open from half six to half ten throughout the rest of the week.
