Dubrovnik is a stunning city with an incredible preserved Old Town. Wandering around its pretty streets and touring the old walls (or dining on them), all offer beautiful views and ample opportunity for incredible photographs. However, if you have found a vacation rental in Dubrovnik and are exploring the city, there is one way to see it that stands out above the rest, literally: the Dubrovnik Cable Car.
Originally established in 1969, the cable car was, sadly, utterly destroyed during the Croatian War of Independence. Happily, however, it was restored and reopened in the summer of 2010, once again offering unparalleled views of the city to visitors.

The 778 meter journey gives you breathtaking views over the Old City and though it only lasts four minutes, it brings you to the top of Mount Srdj, which also offers incredible views over Dubrovnik below. Take some amazing photos in the cable car itself or merely enjoy the trip and, when you arrive, you'll find two panoramic terraces equipped with binocular telescopes, perfect for really having time to take it all in!
You'll also find a snack bar, a panoramic restaurant, a souvenir shop and more so, though the trip is short, the whole experience is fulfilling and can take as long as you like! You can have a leisurely lunch in that panoramic restaurant and really enjoy the views and the lovely setting for as long as you like.
The experience it for yourself, you can head to a place called Ploce, at the beginning of King Petar Krešimir Street (opposite the fire station) where tickets can be bought and you can hop on to a cable car. You can also do the journey in reverse, if you wish, and begin at the Restaurant Panorama at the top of Mount Srđ or in Restaurant Dubravka close to the Pile Gates. Just pay in kuna or by credit card or buy your tickets in euro at local travel agencies and souvenir shops.
If you're holidaying in Dubrovnik, this really is a must-see Croatian attraction!
