Paris, in France, is a beautiful city, in which there is plenty to see and do. However, if you have browsed our vacation rentals in Paris and are planning a trip to the city, there is one particular spot that is worth seeking out...if only for the photographs.
Rue Crémieux is a pretty little street located in the 12th arrondissement, between Rue de Lyon and Rue de Bercy, that is often dubbed the Notting Hill of Paris. Just 144 metres long, it is a pedestrianised and cobblestoned little stretch of street that is lined with charming little houses with lovely pastel and trompes l’œil façades and potted plants out front.

A little bit of a break from the (admittedly also lovely) wide boulevards and elegant Haussmannian architecture of the rest of the city, it is an adorable corner of the city. Just a short walk from the bustling Gare de Lyon train station and branching off the Rue de Lyon, Rue Crémieux seems like a whole different world.
Originally named Avenue Millaud when it opened in 1865, it was later changed to Rue Crémeux in 1897 after a lawyer and Minister of Justice named Adolphe Crémieux. It was also once a far seedier place but is now utterly charming and attracts tourists and fashion bloggers looking to get the perfect commemorative shot in Paris. Nowadays, it is more famous for just this reason but is still a residential area so do keep that in mind when visiting and be considerate of the people living on the street! Do come by and get that shot and take in the picturesque surroundings, though. It is worth swinging by.
