Inaugurated in 1986, the park has been developed over thirty years in an area of the city that is a former riverbed and was also prone to flooding in the past. Today, however, it is a vibrant urban space that is beloved and used by locals and tourists alike. You will find people playing volleyball, basketball and boules, practicing yoga, exercising, families picnicking, teens skateboarding, kids playing on the slides and swings. There are also some serious sports facilities, including full-sized football pitches, an athletics track and even a baseball field.
In addition, the park is bordered by Cabecera Park and Bioparc to the west and the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences to the east. While visiting the park, you can also go and explore the realistic-looking African savannah in the Bioparc; the underwater world and ecosystems of the Oceanogràfic; the huge Gulliver park, where children can climb onto the fingers, hair and legs of a giant 70m reclining figure like Lilliputians; take out swan-shaped boats in Cabecera Park; and discover the 18 historical bridges of the park from different periods and in different architectural styles.
For a full day of fun outdoors, this space in Valencia is excellent and has something for everyone!
