You've been thinking about your next holiday destination for when you can go travelling again, you want something to look forward to, but you're not entirely sure where to go – if this describes you right now then read on as we have put together a guide on how to decide on your next holiday destination in Europe.

What makes a good holiday? Well, this differs for everyone but most will agree that it depends on some combination of the following factors: the food, the weather, how relaxing a destination is, what there is to see and do in the area, what your surroundings look like, and how well it suits your budget. Other elements may also be important and many destinations may suit several different criteria but if any one of the above factors is the deciding feature for you then this will help you find the right location for your needs.
Pizza
If the food is the most important factor...well, lots of different countries could readily suit this trait. However, for consistently good food almost universally no matter where you go, with a good range of delicious food at various price points, and for a unique and distinct food culture, then we always recommend Italy as the destination of choice. Many Italian dishes are now favourites the world over and enjoyed in households all over the globe and there are excellent Italian restaurants everywhere but nothing can really compare to the authentic taste of Italian food that is enjoyed while on holidays in Italy and in Tuscany, where many favourite dishes were invented, in particular. Seitan Limania Beach, Crete
If the weather is what concerns you most...then, again, lots of destinations could cater to your needs. However, sun-worshippers in search of hot and sunny summers and consistently warm and pleasant weather in spring and autumn and those looking to spend lots of time by the pool, on the beach, or working on a tan will find that Greece always delivers. The further south you go – to vacation rentals in Crete and other such locations – the hotter the weather will be and the larger the chunk of the year that remains warm and sunny enough to enjoy some semblance of a sun holiday will be. So, if you're looking for an off-season sun holiday or a sizzling summer adventure, a villa in Greece is just the thing.
Norway
If you want the most spectacularly beautiful surroundings...we cannot recommend a holiday rental in Norway highly enough. This Scandinavian gem is almost otherworldly in its loveliness; from the tips of its snow-capped peaks, to the Northern Lights illuminating the skies overhead, to the stark beauty of the Arctic Tundra , to the rich and verdant forests, to majestic fjords, and more. Rugged, wild, and heart-stoppingly stunning, a vacation rental in Norway ensures you'll be surrounded by the most incredible scenery you have ever seen.
Sta Cruz de Tenerife
If you're working on a budget...a villa in Spain is always a good idea. While you will find some very exclusive resorts in Spain, the cost of living, overall, is relatively low and there are many wonderful budget-friendly destinations. Check out our villas in the Canary Islands and vacation rentals on the Costa del Sol for some great bargains.

Dubrovnik
