If you are looking to experience Croatia's most magical landscapes and incredible outdoor experiences, then few other holiday destinations could be better than a vacation in Istria. Boasting a dramatic and popular coastline for which the region is most well-known, Istria's lesser-known boon is inland. Here you will find, “Green Istria,” an area untouched by large-scale tourism or developments and which is made up of a lush and varied landscape of vineyards, olive groves, orchards, valleys, forest-covered hills, historic and pretty little villages, and more. Not only does this rich and vibrant countryside produce endless gastronomic delights, it also affords the opportunity for some incredible adventures. For those who love the great outdoors, getting out and staying active on holidays, and incredibly scenic surroundings, a villa in Istria is just the thing and one of the most exciting activities that you could enjoy is zip-lining from the clifftops of the Pazin Cave.
Pazin Cave is a natural phenomenon that was carved out by the river Pazinčica in Istria. Consisting of the external hole of the cave located at the foot of a 100m cliff and an underground section that is approximately 270m long and ends in a lake, this cave system is massive and impressive. An extraordinary natural attraction known to have inspired and left speechless the likes of Dante Alighieri, Jules Verne, and many others who have had the opportunity to see it for themselves, the cave can be visited and admired by taking the short walk along the footpath running on the southern side. However, the far more thrilling way to take in the natural grandeur of the cave and to have an adventure is to explore the underground world on an exciting Speleo Adventure or to go flying over this majestic setting on a zip-line.

Consisting of four different lines, the adventure of zip-lining at Pazin Cave begins at the gorge below the Hotel Lovac. The first two lines are 80m long and are not quite as high, helping you work your way mentally and physically up to undertaking the crossing of the entire canyon. Once you have gotten used to that, when you want to take it a step further, you can then check out the third line, which is 220m long and allows those riding it to reach speeds of up to 40km per hour. This line will take you to the courtyard of the House of the Writers, just by the castle. If you're really ready and up for excitement, then the fourth line is the one for you. 280m long and reaching a maximum speed of 50km per hour, this line takes in wonderful aerial views over the cave and the castle above it, ending above the Babina Kuća Cave, on the lookout, (named for French writer Jules Verne who wrote about the Pazin Cave and castle in his 1885 novel, "Mathias Sandorf"). The whole route lasts a little less than an hour (varying between 30 and 50 minutes depending on the size of the group and experience level of those in the group undertaking the trip) in total and leaves you back at the footpath of the cliffs of the Pavin Cave.

With all necessary safety precautions, careful attention and guidance from experts, and a magical setting, the zip-line experience at Pavin Cave is a thrilling and unforgettable outing to plan while on vacation in Istria and a wonderful way to admire the beauty of Green Istria from a birds eye position...
