Villa Stelios, sunset

Greece, as a holiday destination, is often pictured in a very specific way: waking up to stunning views over glittering bluer than blue waters with clear skies overhead and a backdrop of whitewashed buildings stacking up from craggy cliffs. While, of course, there are plenty of locations all around the country that don’t look like this and are well worth visiting and exploring, it is certainly true that many of Greece’s most popular spots among tourists are those that boast similar scenes. An important consideration, then, when choosing and booking your villa in Greece is the view afforded from the property. Luckily, we have plenty of vacation rentals in Greece that boast some truly stunning panoramas that can be enjoyed all throughout your stay, as you go about your daily activities all day, when you wake up in the morning to refresh your eyes and remind you that you are on holidays, and before you go to sleep while you chat into the night with your companions or enjoy a drink while soaking it all in. There is no better component when choosing your holiday rental in Greece for letting you escape your daily concerns and life, allowing you to fully relax, and ensuring that you are well and truly immersed in some proper rest and relaxation than a wonderful view. So, check out this edit of some of our villas in Greece with insane views...

Villa Plaka

Villa Plaka, Pláka, Crete (available for €291 per night)

This incredible, sleek, and modern luxury villa is located in a tranquil and peaceful elevated location 5km from the sea and from the town of Pláka in Crete. Due to this position, the villa boasts truly remarkable views over the coastline and scenery of Crete, taking in the sea, islands, mountains, and more. To the rear of the property, you will find the lovely pool area on a patio that also has sun loungers, dining areas, and other outdoor furniture arranged prettily to get the most out of the outdoor space and to give you ample places and ways to admire those views. From inside, as well, you can take in glimpses of the panoramas that unfold behind the villas: there are glass doors out onto the patio from both the living room and the dining area that look directly down to the sea and both upstairs bedrooms have direct access onto a balcony that allows guests to take in the scenery from even more of a birds eye angle. Of course, it is hard to compete with the wonderful setting in all of its glory while outside. So, if you are looking for a three bedroom villa in Crete where you can take in the island in its wilder and more natural glory while in the pool, sunning yourself, eating al fresco, sipping on a coffee while the kids play in the water, reading a good book, or catching up over a glass of wine on the balcony while the sun sets over the sea, then this magic gem is the spot for you!

Villa Kalivos

Villa Kalivos, Roúsa Límni, Crete (available from €184 to €239 per night)

Speaking of luxury properties in Crete with excellent pool areas that make the most of impressive views unfolding below them, this 3-bedroom villa located less than a kilometre from the town of Roúsa Límni in Crete also ticks all of those boxes. However, while Villa Plaka affords a greater sense of tranquillity and being a little bit removed from things, Villa Kalivos takes in views that are also dotted with lots of whitewashed villas as the valley below flows out to the sea. Indeed, this gorgeous property boasts both great panoramas and proximity to all of the convenience and amenities of a town, basically the best of both worlds for those looking to be a little more active and in the midst of things during their vacation. Some of the upstairs bedrooms open onto balconies that take in the scenery and the impressive home gym in a cabin at the end of the garden has massive windows taking up one wall allowing you to admire the views while working out. However, with this villa, it is really all about enjoying the scenery while hanging out in the pool or relaxing on the loungers and chairs framing the pool area!

Villa Ammoudi

Villa Ammoudi, Agía Pelagía, Crete (available from €157 to €292 per night)

Villa Ammoudi, meanwhile, combines a little of both previous properties. While a little more removed from the dwellings below of Agía Pelagía, over which the property looks, the villa is just a couple of kilometres away from both the amenities of the town and the seaside. Its position, nestled high into the hills above, allows guests to take in great panoramas over the coastline and the surrounding hilly landscape inland while not actually being too far away from anything. So, if you want both convenience and some peace and quiet, it is a great choice. As with the previous two properties, is it the pool area to the rear of the villa that offers the best and clearest views over this stunning part of the world. However, you can also admire the scenery from the big glass doors leading outside onto a balcony overlooking everything from the living room and from the kitchen and from all four bedrooms on the lower floor, which all open up directly onto the pool area. Lots of others windows here and there offer glimpses but the designer of this house really maximised on the surroundings of the property by having almost every room feature big glass doors looking out over the scenery. With spacious and plush and relaxing interiors and a roomy pool area to the back that is well set up with ample loungers, parasols, outdoor dining areas, and more, this gem ensures that you can admire the remarkable views unfolding below no matter what you are doing in the house throughout your stay.

Ascos

Ascos, Agios Nikolaos, Zakynthos (available from €353 to €390 per night)

Ascos is another example of a property located in a peaceful and private spot that affords stunning views over the coast (this time of Zakynthos), mountains, cliffs, and lush greenery of this part of Greece. A familiar set-up, the villa has a pool area to the rear of the property that takes in those views and allows guests to enjoy them from the water, the sun-loungers, the hanging egg chair, and the covered dining area on the patio. The open plan kitchen and living area has big glass doors leading directly out to this patio and pool area and various windows throughout the space offer glimpses of the scenery from different angles. Both bedrooms also open directly out to the terrace through glass doors, allowing you to step through and enjoy the majesty of this gorgeous setting first thing each morning and just before you lay your head down to sleep at night. Located just outside the centre of town, 3.6km from the sea and the nearest beaches, everything you could need is pretty close by but you are far enough away from it all to get to enjoy these stunning panoramas throughout your stay.

Villa Stelios

Villa Stelios, Akhládha, Crete (available from €138 to €238 per night)

Last but not least, the gorgeous and spacious 4-bedroom Villa Stelios, located just 2km from Akhládha and 4km from the nearest beaches, boasts some truly breathtaking and astounding views. While all of the villas on this list are in stunning settings, Villa Stelios is positioned high up on a hillside among mountains along the coast of Crete and the wild beauty of the island is clearly on display as a result. When guests here look out across the surrounding area, they can see far and wide and enjoy views that one must usually endure an arduous hike to admire all throughout their days. When hanging out at the pool area, swimming, lounging on the sun beds, reading, dining and barbecuing al fresco on the covered patio, cooking or dining in the kitchen, and relaxing in the living room, it is easy to take in the gorgeous scenery or to merely have it as a backdrop to accompany you while you go about your daily activities. There are also several other terraces and glass doors directly out from rooms in the house onto terraces and balconies, making it easy to step out and take a moment to appreciate this truly magical setting.

While there are plenty of other things to consider when booking a villa in Greece, a huge added bonus is when the property has views like these and, given that so many of our vacation rentals in Greece do boast similar panoramas, it is pretty easy to find lots of great options that make the most of the incredible beauty of this part of the world. Refresh your eyes and soul on your next getaway and book a villa where you can live inside the dreamy landscapes of postcards and movies for a little while...
