Sa Tuna
This little seaside village is fronted by a typical rocky cala washed by the most incredible jewel-tone waters. Enjoy splashing in the crystal-clear waters, the beautiful backdrop of green hills and white fisherman's cottages, meals in the incredible local restaurants with equally appealing sea views, and more. A coastal path from the village's main beach will lead you along the rocky coastline of the surrounding area to the next beach, S’Eixugador. This is a bit of a trek and is only accessible on foot or by boat but is definitely worth the effort!

Fornells is another spot that has traditionally been a fishing village. While fishing still takes place in town, much activity today revolves around tourism and the Port d'Aiguablava. This marina has 61 moorings operated by the Club Nàutic Aiguablava, which organises sailing and scuba diving expeditions, allowing visitors to dive deeper into the coastline of the area. The GR 92 coastal walking trail also runs through Fornells, connecting it to Sa Tuna and various other areas along the lovely Costa Brava.

For an even quieter and more tranquil experience, this village, which remains largely untouched by mass-tourism and has not been overdeveloped, is ideal. Also a fishing village, it is made up of a gathering of pretty white houses clustered around a typical sandy cove with jade-coloured waters and pines all around. The craggy rocks along the coast, meanwhile, are popular with those who like to snorkel. Authentic, charming, and full of natural beauty, it is yet another pretty place to spend a day on the beach on holiday on the Costa Brava.

Beaches, in general
While the examples clustered around Sa Tuna, Fornells, and Sa Riera are a true delight, there are actually lots of lovely beaches in the area to be discovered. There are sandy beaches perfect for families, rocky and dramatic outcrops that will inspire, and tranquil little coves for those who want true peace and quiet – something for everyone. So, if you love to be by the sea and you want to have a wonderful range of beaches to choose from and/or do tours of, then this is a great part of the world in which to base yourself.
