Most likely, if you are booking a villa in Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, you’re going to want to visit some of her famous museums. Among the list of extraordinary art institutions of the city that are stuffed with masterpieces by many of the most famous names in the history of art, the Uffizi Gallery stands out as probably the must-see example. Of course, you may want to visit more and other galleries and museums throughout your vacation in Florence but this is certainly the best-known option and for good reason. Sprawling, beautiful in its own right, boasting amazing views over the city from its terrace, and full of outstanding works, it is an important tourist attraction for any art-lover coming to the city. Set aside a few hours, make sure you’ve had a snack and something to drink beforehand, and then come dive in so you can put a little dent in the astounding collections of the museum.

Many imagine indoor spaces when thinking of a vacation in Florence: museums, boutiques, palaces, churches, restaurants, cafes, bars, and more. However, if you have found a villa in Florence and are spending some time exploring the birthplace of the Renaissance and the capital of Tuscany, you will quickly find that the outdoor space of Florence are equally captivating and impressive. The palaces that are dotted throughout the city often still have beautiful and historic gardens that can be visited, piazzas are lined with cafes for coffee-sipping and people watching and house lively markets at certain days and times of the week, the ancient streets are full of things to see with architectural and artistic gems framing your vision as you walk about, and there are endless parks, walks, and more to be explored. One of the most beautiful of all of these outdoor spaces in Florence, however, has to be the Parco delle Cascine, or Cascine Park.

Cascine Park is located along the north bank of the Arno and stretches from the centre of the city to where the Mugnon and Arno meet. Stretching over a whopping 160 hectares (or 395 acres), the park dates back to 1563, when Cosimo I de' Medici created the space as a farming and hunting estate for the ruling Medici family. In fact, the name of the park itself comes from the old Italian work, “cascio,” which means bovine livestock from which the production of butter and cheese is intended.

The apartment met our expectations. It was spacious, clean and had all the things we needed. Because of the hot weather, we were grateful for the air conditioning in every room. At our arrival, we were welcomed by Osvaldo, the manager and he explained everything we needed to know. The flat is in the middle of Firenze, close to all the sightseeing attractions. Unfortunately, we didn't know, that it is not allowed to drive into the old town, where the apartment is located. So we had to leave our car one night in a car park in order to avoid a fine

Dante is in the perfect location: so close to the main attractions and within walking distance of the train station. As for the apartment, it is exactly as described. Communication with Roberto or his family was generally very good, although we had problems with the wifi cutting out which took a while to rectify. Roberto kindly set up a new modem system for us which improved the situation - be mindful that the wifi doesn't reach the bedrooms, though. Overall, though, we loved staying at Dante due to its prime location and spacious living area. Great for students, too!

STAY HERE! This apartment was absolutely perfect. I stayed here for a full week and loved it. the only flaw is that it is located on the top floor, so you have to "hike" the stairs to get to it, but it really wasn't an issue for me. Once you get inside and see the wonderful view of the Duomo, the climb is forgiven. Pros = AMAZING air conditioning (the apartment was so nice and cold which is critical after being outside in the heat). The bed was so comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets. The view was spectacular. At night the Duomo glows and you can hear the beautiful bell tower. It was very quiet at night, absolutely no noise from the street or neighbors (I’m a very light sleeper). It was very clean and smelled very clean. Full amenities including a full kitchen. You are also in the heart of the city (2 blocks from the city center, 7min walk to stain station, 1 block from Medici palace, 1 block from the academia where the David statue is, 10min walk from the river and Uffizi museum, and seconds away from food, wine, and gelato). Florence is fantastic, but it is hot, kind of dusty, and hectic due to tourism so having a “getaway” apartment like this that feels like home away from home is so nice! If you don’t have any physical issues and can climb the stairs I highly suggest staying here, I know I will when I visit again.

AMAZING LOCATION! the apartment itself is on the top floor of the building, so lots of stairs, but the location is worth it. 2 min walk to the Duomo. 2 min walk to the Academia Galleria. 10-15 min walk to shopping and Pointe Vecchio. The apartment itself could have used more mirrors, so if your group had a lot of girls, make sure to bring a compact mirror. We had an amazing stay. I would stay here again, highly recommend.

The apartment was clean, had plenty of space (there were 6 of us) and was in a very excellent location. Please be aware that this apartment is on the 4th floor (102 steps) and is difficult with heavy luggage. We had a little difficulty with the internet connection and there was not a lot of hot water. The location, space, and price more than made up for these minor issues. We would definitely stay here again if coming back to Florence (just pack lighter).
