There is, of course, no shortage of incredible beaches to choose from along the famed Italian Riviera but if you book a villa in Liguria and you are after a perfect sandy beach for a day by the sea in the area then you might actually have a little bit more trouble. This is a beautiful stretch of coast, marked by the pretty, colourful clusters of buildings climbing up from the azure waters that are the towns of the Cinque Terre and the striking craggy cliffs lapped by the waves that make up most of the Italian Riviera. So, while it is certainly picturesque and a place full of lovely spots to swim, typical sandy beaches are less common.
