We invite you to savour a unique, unforgettable, timeless experience, surrounded by centuries-old olive groves and stone walls, in a place imbued with the memory of the powerful feudal lineage of the Cerchi dynasty, who lived in the castle in the 12th century and were often frequented by Dante Alighieri. The characteristic beauty of the Chianti hillsides – constituted by the landscape, the climate, the produce and the easy-going way of life – reaches the apex of its exclusivity in Castel d’Acone.
The buildings of this borgo have been sub-divided into 6 apartments, which have retained their historical features and are available to rent throughout the year. The Cerchi family lived in Castel d'Acone for several generations in the 12th century before moving to Florence, and the still-extant Renaissance chapel next to the castle is dedicated to the blessed Emiliana dei Cerchi, whose mortal remains are to be found at the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence.
At guests' disposal:
Our swimming pool 12 x 6 metres depth 1.5 mtl open from First of May until the end of September, immersed within a lush natural "amphitheatre", is sun-drenched through the entire day and is flanked by parasols, tables and sun-beds to allow you to spend relaxing hours listening to the chirping of blackbirds, woodpeckers and cuckoos. This uniquely fascinating place enables you to become enveloped in a sense of peace that is hard to find anywhere else.
In the area adjacent to the swimming pool, your children can run around the lawn and amuse themselves in the playpark.
The taverna is the place where we often get together with our guests and allow them to savour the typical produce of this area and to learn all about the unmistakable flavours and aromas of our culinary tradition.
