How To Attend Paris Fashion Week II

Paula Knorr AW17 Presentation
If you are a fashion lover who has found a vacation rental in Paris and are planning on visiting the city in February of September, you'll find that the place will be abuzz with activity for Paris Fashion Week. The exact dates vary a little year to year and season to season but these are the months in which it has always taken place in recent years. While many of the events are exclusive and hard to get into without press accreditation or industry connections, you can actually participate in some ways. Here's how to get a taste of Paris Fashion Week for yourself!
1. People Watching

One of the easiest and most uncomplicated ways to get a glance into the fashion world is by using social media to find out where the big brands are going to have their shows and waiting outside to check out the style and pageantry of those attending – and all the better if you can scope out a nearby cafe with a good view so you can enjoy it all while sipping on a coffee and grabbing a snack. These shows are prime people watching events where you may even spot some celebrities! To attend shows, fashionistas and the rich and famous get very dressed up and there is always something interesting or even shocking to spot in the crowds that surround such things. Bloggers, in particular, often go out of their way to wear outfits that will attract the throngs of photographers that surround shows.

No need to worry about invites here, just pop along and take a look at the madness for yourself!

2. Galeries Lafayette's Shows

The famous Galeries Lafayette has runway “trunk shows” which show new collections debuting in-store, the same pieces as those being shown at PFW. While it may not be the actual fashion show, it is the same clothes in a wonderful setting and is freely available to the public throughout the year. The fashion shows take place every Friday at 3pm on the 4th floor of Lafayette Coupole and last 30 minutes. Just complete this registration form and attend for free!
