The precisely 507 taxidermied frogs in this collection of anthropomorphic amphibians are arranged in 21 cases and the dioramas that they present were the life’s work of 20th century Hungarian taxidermist named Ference Mere. Mere devoted 10 years to stuffing and arranging the frogs in these scenes and completed the project in 1920. The unique collection came into the possession of different people over the years and eventually found its way to Croatia where the frogs were deemed to warrant a permanent museum.
