Discover A WWII Shipwreck In This Stunning Croatian Bay

Zavratnica bay
Croatia is famous all over the world for her perfect beaches and, in particular, crystal clear waters. If you like hanging out on the beach, swimming, and water sports, it is a luxury vacation rental in Croatia is an ideal holiday destination. It is particularly recommended for those who enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving as those perfectly glassy waters make it easier to see everything around you as you make your way through the water.
While exploring Croatia underneath the surface, you should be sure to make time to explore the little bay of Zavratnica, about an hour's walk from the port of Jablanac, were the remains of a German WWII ship can be seen clearly, just a few metres beneath the clear water of the inlet. Even from the surrounding hillsides, the beach or while wading in the shallows, you'll most likely be able to catch a glimpse of the remains of the vessel from the Second World War but, for a closer look, don your gear and get up close and personal with the wreck.

The whole area is a very peaceful and relaxing place that is incredibly scenic and the hike to the wreck is almost as enjoyable as actually exploring it, although the magical serenity of the calm under the sea and the fascinating way the water has affected the craft – plus the little fish darting to and fro – is indescribable.
