Summer in Croatia can get really very hot so, if you have found a vacation rental in Istria and are looking for somewhere where you can cool off and unwind, why not head to Aquapark Istralandia for a day? This waterpark in Istria, is located on the northern coast of the Istrian Peninsula, 5km from Novigrad, and is in the most scenic and beautiful spot, surrounding by lush greenery and forests that offer cool pools of shade to lay out in. It has all the facilities you could need for a family to have a great day out including various pools, water slides, multiple eateries, a store, lockers, and much more besides.
Aquapark Istralandia is home to 24 attractions, over 1.6 km of pipes, 20 different slides, and six different kinds of pools that allow for different types of experiences from thrilling adventures to more relaxing days doing very little at all. Among the pools there is the Jumping Kids Pool, the Family Pool, the Spray Kids Arena, the children's pools, the hydromassage pool, and the classic wave pool. So, in addition to simply swimming, you can unwind among adults in the healing hydromassage pool, which is spread across two levels and has a surface area of 900m2 or play around in the Spray Kids Arena or experience the special wave pool with its artificial waves and surface area of 2500m2, making it the largest wave pool in the Mediterranean. The youngest ones in the group, meanwhile, can enjoy the 1000m2 children's pool, which boasts lots of themed activities inspired by pirates and even has a “watercastle”.
Of course, we can't go without mentioning the slides. There are 20 different ones to choose from including: Space Combo, the longest slide that sees users zoom down on a rubber boat past thematic visual effects and through both open and closed pipes as well as space ships; Escape Hole, which also uses visual effects and then continues down, offering a view of the whole park; Black Kamikaze, which is another rubber boat ride that is incredibly fast and exciting; Bunga Hole, which is for the courageous and offers a beautiful view while you drop down; Crazy Hills, which is made up of soft slides constructed on a natural terrain slope in six parallel tracks; Fantasy Hole, which is a closed water slide that you traverse in a rubber boat and which uses numerous light and sound effects; Flying Boats, which is for speed lovers and offers an exciting descent that feels like flying in a rubber boat intended for two; Free Fall, which is the tallest slide in Croatia at a height of 27m and is a pure adrenalin-pumping experience; Sky River, which takes you in a rubber boat along a “river” through open and closed parts as if you were rafting; the impossibly fast Space Rocket Park; Top Gun, which shoots you out of a cannon; and some more slides that are suited to some younger kids.
In addition to all of the rides there are 8 restaurants and bars offering healthy meals, fast-food favourites, cakes, ice-creams, and more suiting both those looking to stay healthy and those who really want to treat the gang. Considered one of the best waterparks in Europe, this real gem of a place is somewhere that the whole family can enjoy together if you are holidaying in, and spending time in, this lovely part of Croatia this summer!
