Musée de l'Orangerie
Paris is home to lots of truly incredible museums and, in particular, if you are interested in the Impressionists, you'll find ample opportunity to greet and examine some of the most iconic, beloved, representative, famous, and best examples of works from the school in various museums and galleries located around the city. However, if you have found a vacation rental in Paris and you are a Monet fan there is one museums that cannot be missed, the Musée de l'Orangerie.
The Musée de l'Orangerie is located in the old orangery of the Tuileries Palace on the Place de la Concorde, which was built in 1852 in order to house the orange tree groves of the Republic. Today, however, it houses a rich collection of Impressionist and Post-impressionist paintings from artists such as Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Rousseau, Alfred Sisley, Chaim Soutine, and Maurice Utrillo, among others. While these works are all worth seeing and exploring, the most famous and important part of the collection of the Musée de l'Orangerie is, without a doubt, the stunning series of eight large-scale Water Lilies murals by Claude Monet.

Located in a pair of elegant oval gallery rooms inside the museum and in the place that Monet himself wanted them to be housed, viewing the works is a rather transcendent and meditative experience. If you are an art-lover, in general, or a Monet fan, in particular, these two rooms alone are one of the highlights of the entire city of Paris but the museum, as a whole, is also well-worth a visit as it is full of incredible gems. This wonderful museum is a must-see if you have found a vacation rental in Paris or a vacation rental in France and are looking for one of the top art experiences in the country.
