Villa Les Poulivets, garden

Oppède is a stunning town that is made up of an old town – a well-preserved medieval core that is beyond picturesque – and a new town in the region of Provence-alpes-côte D'azur. It is a place of winding streets, beautiful historic buildings, houses swathed in bright flowers climbing up the walls, and pretty little eateries with bistro tables set up outside for people-watching as you dine. But that’s not where the charms of this part of the world end. All around the town, you can find lush countryside that is full of wonderful hiking and biking trails, lavender fields, castles dotted here and there, and vineyards. It truly is a magical place that seems almost conjured from fantasies about what life in the south of France is like. Not far from this charming town, in that lovely landscape, you can find Villa Les Poulivets, one of our favourite villas in Provence

Villa Les Poulivets, living room

Boasting pretty grounds and a private pool, Villa Les Poulivets can accommodate up to eight guests comfortably in four bedrooms with three bathrooms. When one first enters the property, one immediately encounters a neat and impossibly chic garden of little patches of lawn among a white pebble yard, dancing shadows from the many trees offering shade throughout the space, sun loungers and deck chairs surrounding a gorgeous rectangular pool, two terraces, and a covered outdoor dining area with seating for al fresco dining for all eight guests plus little areas to sit with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. High fencing all around the exterior of the property also means that one can enjoy this gorgeous outdoor area and lounge about throughout their stay with complete privacy assured.

Villa Les Poulivets, dining room

Moving inside the villa itself, one finds a bright and beautifully finished gem that has been decorated carefully in a charming boho style. The furnishings throughout are comfortable, there are lots of interesting works of art on display, eclectic touches are added all over, there is lots of mixing and matching of styles, and the house, overall, has a real sense of being a stylish home in which one can relax rather than a show property that doesn’t quite have that welcoming touch.

Villa Les Poulivets, bedroom

There is an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, with an entrance directly out onto the terrace, making it easy to bring meals outside. The cute country-style kitchen may be charming to look at but it also has all of the top-of-the-line appliances and conveniences that one could ask for including a coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, spacious fridge-freezer, and more while a pretty and rustic dresser has all of the stylish plates, glasses, and other accoutrements that you could need on display. The cosy dining area features a sturdy table with mismatched chairs and opens onto the living area where there is a television and a Marshall speaker. Air-conditioning and WIFI is available all throughout this space for convenience and comfort.

The hallways and bedrooms and bathrooms all continue this eclectic, chic style and are all also well-finished, roomy, welcoming spaces in which to enjoy a vacation in Provence. The bedrooms also open out onto the grounds, allowing guests to make the most of this lovely space and the WIFI and air-conditioning continue throughout the whole house (except the smallest twin room, which does not have air-conditioning and does not open directly onto the garden).

Ideally set up for a holiday of relaxed and quiet elegance with all of the comforts you could need in this part of France, Villa Les Poulivets is a gem of a place and perfect spot to enjoy a getaway in Provence from €270 - €530 per night...
