Deauville is distinguished by its title as the closest seaside resort to Paris. An upscale resort town made famous as a tourist destination in the 19th century and composed of pretty buildings typical of the region, it is located in Normandy on the so-called Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast). Incredibly chic and boasting a race course, a gorgeous harbour bobbing with boats and yachts, a Grand Casino, two film festivals, a long list of famous visitors, and many films and works of art made or set in the town, Deauville is both lovely and fascinating. Villa Deauville, a charming historic home set within this gorgeous town is one of the distinctly pretty buildings in the area and is found right in the centre of town, just 900m from the sea. Sleeping up to ten guests in five bedrooms with three bathrooms, this stunning villa has availability still for July and August, making it an ideal place to enjoy both a perfect seaside holiday in France and day-trips into Paris.

Spread across three storeys and renovated this year, Villa Deauville is composed of the main house and an outbuilding. The house itself is a charming and typical building of Normandy with stone walls, a tall roof with tall brick chimneys, pointed gables, woodwork applied to the façade, and shuttered windows. A lush garden to the rear frames the house beautifully with its greenery and blooms and it faces onto the street with balconies and a charming iron fence. There is parking on the road and amenities are very close by including a shop and restaurant just 50m away, a grocery store just 130m away, a bakery 200m away, and the train station 700m away. In addition, the nearest sandy beach is a short walk away and other nearby attractions include an indoor swimming pool, a golf course, tennis courts, thermal baths, a riding stable, the town’s Grand Casino, and the Hippodrome de Deauville La Touques.

Renovated just this year, the villa itself is a gorgeous space with high ceilings, bright and airy rooms, lots of light streaming in through large windows, and a chic, luxurious finish. Upon arriving at the house, you come into an entrance hall with a stairs up to the bedrooms and an open-plan living room space just to the right. This room is a stylish space with comfortable leather sofas, a large circular coffee table, a big blue bookshelf with interesting decorations, and an open-hearth fireplace (though this is merely decorative and is not open for use currently). There is also a large kitchen with a modern marble table seating eight in comfortable chairs, a lounge area under the bay window, and a neat and appealing open kitchen area with an oven and stove top, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, and coffee machine. Exits go out to the garden and the terrace from both rooms, making it easy to bring meals al fresco and enjoy the lovely outdoor space. On this floor, there is also a separate WC.

On the lower ground floor, meanwhile, there is a bedroom with a French bed, doors out to the garden, and a bathroom with a shower as well as a separate WC. On the first floor, there are three more bedrooms with French beds and another bathroom with a shower. Finally, the last of the bedrooms is located in the chalet at the end of the garden. The house also has WIFI, a washing machine, dryer, and an iron.

Back out into the garden, you will find the terrace with a dining table for eight down the stairs from the kitchen, a bench in the shaded porch beneath the bay window, and lush lawns and greenery – an ideal space for enjoying long meals outdoors, glasses of wine and catch-ups, and morning coffees while listening to birdsong.

With availability still for much of the summer and prices starting at just €424, Villa Deauville is a charming period property with modern style that is the perfect choice for a seriously chic seaside break on vacation in France!
