Castello Borgia

The Borgia’s Castle

Atmospheric, plush, and utterly steeped in history, the first stones of this castle were laid in the 14th century, as a sight tower, before ultimately coming to house members of the notorious Borgia family. The grand stone building of Castello Borgia is now available to be booked for extra-special luxury vacations or, even, to host a destination wedding.

Castello Borgia, living room

Located 6km (or 4 miles) from Passignano Sul Trasimeno and 26km (16 miles) from Perugia in the Lake Trasimeno tourist area of Umbria, Castello Borgia sleeps up to 12 people comfortably in seven bedrooms with six bathrooms and boasts grand historic interiors as well as 9 hectares of incredible grounds with direct views over Lake Trasimeno. Despite the age and history of the building, however, guests will be happy to know that it boasts plush, elegant, and comfortable interiors as well as mod-cons such as WIFI and air-conditioning. While part of the building is occupied by the owners, much is given to the exclusive use of guests – including the 9 hectares of the gardens, with a private swimming pool and tennis courts – and there are totally separate entrances, so your privacy will be ensured.

A chance to live it up like royalty in stunning surroundings that are steeped in history, this property offers the opportunity to rent your very own Italian castle for an unforgettable vacation in Italy!

Casa Farfalla

An Architectural Adventure

On the opposite end of the scale is Casa Farfalla, a modern architectural gem built into a mountainside overlooking a valley below and the city of Lucca. An incredible feat of design, this wonder was created by its owners, the artists, architects, and interior designers Michel and Donia Boucquillon. With a roof of the main house that can be opened to ventilate and cool down the entire building using a system of hydraulic pistons, large windows that can open to unite the indoor and outdoor, tasteful modern interiors, and more, this is truly an architectural adventure for those interested in living in such an astounding space for a little while.

Casa Farfalla, exterior

In addition to the villa itself, there is a wonderful outdoor space with a private pool and lounging areas, as well as a surrounding 10 hectares of land with olive groves and woods. As much as the building acts as the star of the show, it is always in conversation with the outdoor spaces, its unique setting, and the amazing views all around.

Sleeping up to twelve guests in six bedrooms, with five bathrooms, an ample space in which to unwind both inside and outside, it is a dream escape for the modern architecture lover imagining a villa in Tuscany.
