Visovac Island

Paying a visit to the incredible Krka National Park is already a good enough reason (along with the lush landscapes, gorgeous coastline, towering peaks, endless vineyards, and hundreds of islands) to book a vacation rental in Šibenik-Knin County and delve into the immense natural beauty of the region.

This stunning national park is composed of impressive waterfalls, lakes, rivers, forests, hills, and mountains with hiking paths, trails, and boardwalks winding through it all. Rich colours also characterise this lovely landscape with deep green foliage that turns an array of golden hues in autumn, aquamarine water, the white of the frothing falls, and the occasional terracotta of a traditional roof. The result is a landscape that can seem unreal and is as pretty as a painting.

Then, in the midst of this already lovely scenery, one comes upon another picture-perfect sight: right in the middle of the Visovac Lake is the pretty little Visovac Island, topped by a charming monastery by the same name.

Croatia, until relatively recently, was probably most regarded by the international travel community at large as a summer holiday destination with a dreamy coastline. Certainly, this is true: Croatia is, understandably, very famous and perhaps best-known for its lovely beaches and as an ideal spot for sun holidays. However, there is so much more to it as a vacation destination and, increasingly, it seems that these nuances are becoming common knowledge. So, if you have been considering a vacation rental in Croatia then these are some of the special traits and alluring attractions that you can expect to encounter.

Croatia, while she has much more to offer in addition, has long been most famous among tourists for her incredible coastline and seaside resorts. We always suggest heading inland too, to explore the green heart of the country, the amazing vineyards, the pretty towns, the lush landscapes, but there is no denying that the coastal areas are immensely charming. This has only been further highlighted this year by news that the seawater in Croatia has been officially declared the cleanest in Europe. So, if you are a serious water baby and want to spend a vacation swimming, sailing, surfing, kayaking, scuba-diving, or just generally hanging out by and in the sea then this news only underscores a villa in Croatia as a perfect choice!
