Fall has to be one of the best times of the year to book a villa in the Ionian Islands as the more intense tourist crowds of the summer months have well and truly departed for the year, leaving travellers to enjoy all of the charms of this part of Greece in peace and at their leisure. Furthermore, Greece is a great destination for sun-lovers looking to holiday later in the year, whether they did not manage to get away during the summer or if they feel in need of another vacation after a busy year at work. It is a perfect way for a lot of people who want to escape the colder weather that they might be enduring back home and spend some time relaxing on the beach while soaking up the sun before it disappears.

Many choose to vacation in the South Aegean as they know that it is the perfect place to well and truly get away from it all and to just relax. Of course, there are islands among those in the area that are most famous for partying and attracting celebrities and the rich and famous but certain islands really appeal to those looking to do very little of anything at all and to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Paros, for example, is an ideal destination for travellers who want to soak up the majestic beauty of this part of the world and to recuperate. As such, the attractions that are often most appealing on this lovely island in Greece are not flashy or overly involved. Instead, the attractions on offer for those who holiday in Paros tend to be natural gems where wandering, breathing in the sweet breezes, and admiring your surroundings are some of the major activities. There are endless stunning beaches to be explored, there are incredible ruins to walk among, and there are monasteries and churches and museums to potter about in, there are scenic spots to join yoga classes and go horseback riding, and there are some truly spectacular natural gems to admire. Among these natural gems, there is one that is a perfectly charming little spot to see some amazing creatures, grab a coffee, and sit back and relax: the Valley of the Butterflies.

Moires Market

The best part of finding a villa in Greece or a villa in Crete, in particular, for foodies is knowing that you can both eat out and enjoy cooking for your loved ones as per your own whims and plans for each day. Prepare picnics to bring on days at the beach, take a break during your activities to come home and enjoy lunch and relax for a while, enjoy leisurely breakfasts by the pool or sitting out with a good book, or make dinners while everyone chats around the kitchen before gathering around and savouring a delicious meal and good conversation on a balmy night under the moonlight – it's up to you! However, if you're looking to prepare some delicious meals while on vacation in Crete, you're probably in the market (excuse the pun) for some of the freshest and best ingredients, like impossibly tasty produce grown in rich Greek soil and perfectly ripened by the sun, fish caught just that day, delicious local wines and olive oil, and much more besides. Well, if you are looking to stock your rental with the best of the best ingredients, then you should plan a trip to the wonderful market town of Moires!

Though it is not something that many people automatically associate with Greece, there are actually quite a few different ski resorts located across the country. So, if you have found a vacation rental in Greece and are planning a winter getaway, you can quite readily combine pleasant weather and trips to the seaside (though don't expect the temperatures to ever get much higher than around 21 degrees Celsius at most in Greece in December or January) with snowy days hitting the slopes. If you have found a vacation rental in Thessaly, in particular, and are looking to enjoy some winter sports while holidaying in the area then we recommend a trip to the Pertouli Ski Centre.

Pertouli is a small mountain village and located just a short distance from the Pertouli Ski Centre, a ski resort that is famous among snow sports lovers in central Greece. Though relatively small and not boasting the longest or most reliable snow season as it is at a low altitude, it is, nonetheless, a beloved Greek winter sports destination.
