The truly gorgeous island of Kos is a wonderful place to vacation due to its incredible natural beauty and wide array of varied and truly amazing beaches. Those who find a villa in Kos and spend time exploring the island, however, may find themselves looking for a break from the sun or just an opportunity to stretch their legs. If so, then we cannot recommend strolling through the lovely pines and paths of the Plaka Forest highly enough. And, while there, you will likely encounter another of the amazing natural wonders of the island, and one of its most beautiful inhabitants: the peacock.

Many choose to vacation in the South Aegean as they know that it is the perfect place to well and truly get away from it all and to just relax. Of course, there are islands among those in the area that are most famous for partying and attracting celebrities and the rich and famous but certain islands really appeal to those looking to do very little of anything at all and to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Paros, for example, is an ideal destination for travellers who want to soak up the majestic beauty of this part of the world and to recuperate. As such, the attractions that are often most appealing on this lovely island in Greece are not flashy or overly involved. Instead, the attractions on offer for those who holiday in Paros tend to be natural gems where wandering, breathing in the sweet breezes, and admiring your surroundings are some of the major activities. There are endless stunning beaches to be explored, there are incredible ruins to walk among, and there are monasteries and churches and museums to potter about in, there are scenic spots to join yoga classes and go horseback riding, and there are some truly spectacular natural gems to admire. Among these natural gems, there is one that is a perfectly charming little spot to see some amazing creatures, grab a coffee, and sit back and relax: the Valley of the Butterflies.

Patras is Greece's third-largest city and is located in the northern Peloponnese, just west of Athens. Built at the foothills of Mount Panachaikon, overlooking the Gulf of Patras, it is a busy commercial city that is still full of natural beauty. The coastline is a prime example of a Mediterranean paradise, with perfectly blue waters, mountains framing the town, lovely islands visible across the water and greenery dotted throughout the city. However, one of the city's most important natural gems, and a must-see for anyone who has found a vacation rental in Patras, is the so-called, “Spinney.”

The Spinney (Δασύλλιο in Greek) of Patras is an area of paths set into a pine-tree-covered hill, known as the "the Gulf of Patras' veranda", from which there is a panoramic view over the city and the bay below.

The Gramvousa Peninsula is a peninsula that features two small uninhabited islands off the coast of an area in north-western Crete. If you have found a vacation rental in Crete, it is an impossibly beautiful stretch of coast and just begging to be explored!

As a whole, the area is full of things to see and do and all of it utterly picturesque and idyllic; make sure to bring your camera because you'll want to capture and remember it all! Between the coast and the islands, a lagoon named Balos Lagoon stretches out and it is an iconic beauty.

The perfect sandy beach, the clear warm turquoise water and the stunning surroundings all make for a charming sight to behold. Too many visitors can ruin it as the beach itself isn't actually that big but if you plan your visit early or late in the day or outside the high season for tourists (June to August), you'll find smaller crowds.

Drama is a town and the capital of a prefecture of the same name that has “drama” in the name but not in the atmosphere. It is a stunning area of natural beauty located on the north-eastern edge of Greece that is made up of endless plains, mountains, a sprinkling of ski resorts, lush forests of firs, oaks, beeches and pines, burbling streams and rivers, and fields of colourful flowers. Idyllic, unpretentious, authentic and pretty, it is a lesser-known gem in Greece.

If you have found a vacation rental in Central Macedonia, why not come explore this charming area for yourself?

In the winter, the area is perfect for those interested in skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports, though the idea of Greece and snow may seem incongruous to some! There are several resorts where you can spend days out on the snow and evenings warming up to local hospitality and tasty dishes like their famous potatoes and soutzoukakia, skewered spicy meatballs.
