Unit Layout
"Samtmuschel" is a charming 3-room terraced house of 54 m2, situated entirely on the ground floor and thoughtfully designed to accommodate up to 4 guests across 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The living and dining room spans 16 m2 and serves as the central gathering space, offering direct access to an 11 m2 terrace through a dedicated exit. The first bedroom measures 8 m2 and is furnished with 1 double bed composed of 2 single mattresses each measuring 90 cm in width and 200 cm in length. The second bedroom measures 7 m2 and features 2 single beds, each 90 cm wide and 190 cm in length. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and WC. A kitchenette is integrated into the living area and includes a dining table, providing a practical and convivial space for meals. Erster Eindruck: Na ja.
Wie von anderen Nutzern beschrieben, roch es sehr muffig und abgestanden, was wahrscheinlich den verlegten Teppichen und dem in die Jahre gekommenen Mobiliar geschuldet ist. Wir empfanden als sehr unangenehm und haben sofort Fenster und Türen geöffnet und Duftkerzen eingesetzt.
Auch nicht vorbildlich war die Sauberkeit in der Wohnung. Unter den Betten, dem Sofa, der Waschgelegenheit im Badezimmer, auf den Schränken, wo man evtl. die leeren Koffer deponieren möchte, war es ziemlich staubig und Haare früherer Bewohner durften auch nicht fehlen.
Teile des fleckigen Bestecks in der Küche haben wir erstmal gespült und unter den Drehschaltern für die Herdplatten (seitlich oben auf der Herdplatte) kam beim Drehen krümeliger Schmutz hervor.
Sehr seltsam war dann das Auffinden von relativ vielen Glasscherben auf einem der Betten im kleineren Schlafzimmer, deren Ursprung wir uns nicht erklären konnten. Die größeren haben wir dann selbst von Hand entfernt und mußten dann bei Benutzung des vorhandenen Staubsaugers einen widerlichen Gestank eines viel zu lange nicht mehr geleerten Staubbeutels ertragen. Im Bad war der Betätigungsknopf des Spülkastens des WCs locker wie auch die Halterung für die Handbrause der sehr kleinen Dusche, sodass man nicht „freihändig“ duschen konnte. Eine Nachttischlampe war defekt, ebenso der CD-Spieler der Kompakt-Stereoanlage (uns egal), sowie eine verklebt-verkrustete Fernbedienung des DVD-Players fanden wir trotz Nichtbenutzung halt eklig.
Negativ ist auch das Fehlen von Mikrowelle, Backofen und Spülmaschine in der Miniküche, da man sich im Urlaub den Aufwand für anfallende Aufgaben beim Kochen und Abspülen doch so gering wie möglich halten möchte und daher ein Backofen für die eine oder andere Fertigpizza oder einen schnellen Auflauf, eine Mikrowelle zum Aufwärmen von übrig gebliebenen Resten und eine Spülmaschine für den unkomplizierten Abwasch doch sehr hilfreich wären und daher einfach fehlen. Der Kühlschrank verfügt übrigens leider auch nicht über ein Drei-Sterne-Gefrierfach, was mir bei einer telefonischen Rückfrage allerdings als gegeben mitgeteilt wurde.
Die Wohnung empfanden wir als sehr hellhörig, was bei lauten Nachbarn auf beiden Seiten stört und auf der Terrasse ist man durch seine Nachbarn ggf. anhaltendem Grill- und Zigarettenqualm sowie evtl. dauernd fussballspielenden Kindern oder etwaigen Hunden ausgesetzt. Wer‘s mag, oder selber so unterwegs ist, den stört‘s wohl nicht.
Positiv ist auf jeden Fall die Lage, da es keinen Durchfahrtsverkehr gibt und man zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten den Strand und andere wichtige (Bäcker, Netto etc.) oder interessante Örtlichkeiten (Schwimmbad, Seehundstation etc.) erreichen kann.
Da man ja nun durch die verschiedenen Urlaubsaktivitäten nicht grade den ganzen Tag in seiner Unterkunft verbringt, ist vieles verschmerzbar, aber alles in allem legt man eben doch sein Geld dafür hin und erwartet dann halt doch etwas mehr, als wir hier geboten bekommen haben.
Wir kommen sicher gerne nochmal an die Nordsee, aber unsere nächste Entscheidung für eine Ferienunterkunft sieht anders aus.

Overall impression: satisfactory
First impression: So and so.
As described by other renters, it smelled very musty and stale, which is probably due to the misplaced carpets and the dated furniture. We felt very uncomfortable and immediately opened windows and doors and used scented candles.
Also the cleanliness in the apartment was not perfect. Under the beds, the sofa, the bathroom, on the closets, where you might want to dump the empty suitcases, it was pretty dusty. Parts of the spotty cutlery in the kitchen, dirty stove tops.
Very strange then was the finding of broken glass on one of the beds in the smaller bedroom, the origin of which we could not explain. We then removed the larger ones ourselves by hand and then had to endure a disgusting stench of a dust bag that had not been emptied for too long when using the existing vacuum cleaner.
In the bathroom, the control knob of the toilet cistern was loose as well as the holder for the hand shower of the very small shower, so you could not shower "freehand".
A bedside lamp was broken, as well as the CD player of the compact stereo system (we do not care), as well as a glued-encrusted remote control of the DVD player we found disgusting despite not being used.
Negative is also the lack of microwave, oven and dishwasher in the mini kitchen, because on holiday you want to keep the effort for cooking and rinsing as low as possible and therefore an oven for one or the other ready pizza or a quick casserole , a microwave to warm up any leftovers and a dishwasher for uncomplicated washing would be very helpful and therefore simply missing. Incidentally, the fridge does not have a three-star freezer, which was given to me in a telephone consultation, however, as given.
We found the unit very noisy, which bothers with loud neighbours on both sides and on the terrace one is exposed by his neighbours possibly persistent grill and cigarette smoke and possibly permanently playing football children or any dogs. If you like it, or yourself, it does not bother you.
In any case, the situation of the unit is positive, as there is no traffic and you can walk in a few minutes to the beach and reach other important services (bakers, net, etc.) or interesting locations (swimming pool, seal station, etc.) .
Since one does not spend the whole day in his accommodation due to the various holiday activities, many things are bearable, but all in all, one just lays out his money and then expects a little more than we have been offered here.
We are sure to come back to the North Sea, but our next decision for a holiday will look different.
