Property Summary

Nestled on the banks of the Liesijoki River and bordering the pristine wilderness of Seitseminen National Park, this remarkable holiday rental in Juhtimäki, Finland, offers a truly exceptional retreat steeped in history and natural beauty. Located approximately 56 km north of Tampere, the property was originally a large logging camp, and its original cabin was built by the celebrated Finnish author Kalle Päätalo. Following a fire that destroyed the main building, a new structure was erected in its place, while the historic stable building constructed by Kalle Päätalo still stands on the grounds today. The main house underwent a full renovation in 2021, ensuring that guests enjoy modern comforts within a setting rich in cultural heritage. The property accommodates a large group across 4 bedrooms and additional sleeping areas. The first bedroom features 2 beds and a bunk bed for 2, the second is equipped with 5 bunk beds accommodating 11 people, the third contains 2 bunk beds sleeping 5, and the fourth offers 2 beds. The fireplace and TV room provides a further bunk bed for 2 along with a comfortable corner sofa. The fully updated kitchen and expansive dining and living area are designed to bring the entire group together, while 2 indoor WCs and 2 showers ensure practical comfort throughout the stay. Wireless internet connectivity is available throughout the property, allowing guests to remain connected while enjoying this extraordinary riverside escape.

Outdoors

The outdoor spaces of this property are as captivating as the interior, defined by the natural drama of the Liesijoki River and the surrounding landscape. By the river, an atmospheric wood-heated sauna, renovated in the spring of 2022, invites guests to unwind in true Finnish tradition. The sauna building includes a dedicated washing area with 2 showers, a fireplace room, and a generous terrace that extends directly over the river, offering an immersive and memorable experience. A dock is available for swimming, providing direct access to the flowing waters of the Liesijoki. It is worth noting that the rocky and fast-moving riverbank is not suitable for small children. Approximately 1.5 km from the property, guests will find a shared swimming area featuring a beautiful sandy beach and a lean-to shelter, which is shared with 3 cabins at the Alainen-Särkilampi pond. The grounds also include the historic stable building known as Kallen Talli 17367, which stands as a testament to the property's storied past and can be rented separately to expand the group's accommodation.

Other Information

This property accommodates large groups and, when combined with the adjacent stable building Kallen Talli 17367, the 2 properties together can host up to 34 people, making it an ideal choice for reunions, retreats, or large family gatherings. The landlord reserves the right to charge a security deposit of 300 EUR, which will be refunded to the tenant's bank account following the rental period, provided the property is returned in good condition with all items intact.

Distances and Attractions

Situated approximately 56 km north of Tampere, the property enjoys a privileged position adjacent to Seitseminen National Park, one of Finland's most cherished natural reserves, offering guests direct access to hiking trails, diverse wildlife, and unspoiled forest landscapes. The nearby Alainen-Särkilampi pond, reachable within approximately 1.5 km, provides a shared sandy beach and leisure area that complements the riverside setting of the property.
