Dating back three centuries, this charming stone farmhouse takes its name from the distinctive small tower, the so-called "torrione," that stands sentinel over the building, lending it an unmistakable character. Set within a 2-hectare estate of woods and olive grove in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, the property comprises a main two-storey building divided into 2 separate units and a small adjacent annex, once used as a barn, together forming an idyllic retreat for large groups. Guests enjoy exclusive use of a panoramic swimming pool set within a large, well-tended garden of approximately 1,000 square metres, where olive trees, cypresses, and oleanders create a serene natural backdrop. A dedicated parking area is conveniently located near the entrance to the house, while wireless internet connection is available throughout the property, ensuring that every comfort is catered for during your stay.
Outdoors
The outdoor spaces at Casa Torrione are thoughtfully designed to invite relaxation and alfresco living at every turn. The expansive garden of approximately 1,000 square metres, predominantly laid to lawn and dotted with olive trees, cypresses, oleanders, and potted plants, wraps around the house and pool, creating a lush and private setting. Relaxing areas have been arranged in the back garden, which communicates directly with the ground-floor living area of the main house, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior living. In addition to a shaded dining area complete with umbrella, a large stone gazebo positioned near the pool provides the perfect spot to cool off, admire the sweeping views, or prepare alfresco meals, as it is equipped with a barbecue. The entire property is accessed through a wooden gate located near the main road, which leads after a few metres to the parking area adjacent to the house entrance.
The non-heated swimming pool occupies the most panoramic position in the garden, bordered by a neat row of hedges and shaded by the foliage of the surrounding olive trees. Irregular in shape, the pool is bordered in stone and lined in PVC, measuring 4 x 8 metres with a maximum depth of 1.40 metres. It features chlorine purification and a solar shower, and is positioned on the same level as the house, approximately 15 metres away. A generous area of plush grass surrounds the pool and is furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas for your comfort. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October.
Unit Layout
Casa Torrione is configured to accommodate up to 14 guests across 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, distributed between the main two-storey building and a small adjacent annex. The main building is divided into 2 self-contained units with no internal communication between them.
Unit 1 is entered through the main entrance, which leads into a bright and spacious living area comprising a large dining room and a smaller room connected to the built-in kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a fireplace-barbecue and offers direct access to the back garden. A terracotta staircase at the entrance leads up to the first floor, where the sleeping area consists of 3 bedrooms: a twin bedroom with joinable beds and an ensuite bathroom with shower, a double bedroom, and a second twin bedroom, with the double and second twin sharing a bathroom with bathtub.
Unit 2 occupies the ground floor with a spacious living room featuring sofas gathered around an antique fireplace and facing out onto the garden, a kitchenette, a double bedroom, and a bathroom with shower. The upper floor of Unit 2 contains a twin bedroom with joinable beds and a double bedroom, both served by a shared bathroom with bathtub.
The annex, standing a few metres from the main house, is accessed through a spacious veranda and consists of a twin bedroom with joinable beds and a bathroom with shower.

Air conditioning is available in the bedrooms, with portable air conditioning units provided in the annex and in one of the bedrooms of the main house. The villa is lovingly preserved by its owners, and if you are lucky enough to stay here, its wooden ceilings, ancient brick arches, Tuscan terracotta floors and elegant furnishings will welcome you into a very special charm, made of old, simple and essential things. The villa is located at the foot of the first wooded hills, which mark the border between Valdichiana and Valdarno, from here you can make even daily excursions, towards the two valleys, dotted with small villages nestled in the Tuscan countryside. In Monte San Savino, which is just a few kilometres away, it will be pleasant to spend evenings out, dining in typical restaurants or enjoying an aperitif sitting at tables in the colourful cobbled streets.
From the windows of the villa you can admire the imposing Castello di Civitella with its characteristic 'Torre Spaccata'. We absolutely recommend a visit to this small village, a real jewel of the Valdichiana, with its ancient cistern, panoramic square and medieval buildings.
La Quiete, in our opinion, is perfectly suited for your holidays with children, or in the company of large groups of friends.
