You will find Villa Cantagallo a short distance from the charming Etruscan town of Cortona (8 km), a destination of great artistic, historical and architectural interest that is definitely worth a visit. You will leave your heart in Cortona, in its paved alleys that climb up the hill, you will immerse yourself in an almost magical atmosphere, as if suspended in time.
Don't forget to dine in one of the countless restaurants and trattorias in the historic centre; our advice is definitely local red wine and a nice Tagliata of Chianina beef!
Until a few years ago the house was the heart of a large farm, then a recent and careful renovation, which the owners carried out with love and care to keep the old features of the villa unaltered, transformed it into a cosy holiday home.
Still next to the house you will find the wine cellar where the owner produces excellent wine (Vino DOC Cortona), which you can taste for free during your holiday.
All around the house you will have at your disposal a large green area equipped with gazebo, table and chairs for your outdoor dinners in company, barbecue, games for children and shaded parking spaces. At the back of the house is the large swimming pool (size 6x12 m, depth 1.20-1.40 m - open from 01st May to 30th September) for your exclusive use. To reach the villa, you will travel 3 km along gravel roads that are well-maintained but sometimes steep with small stones typical of country roads. These roads are not suitable for low-altitude cars or sports cars, and it is strongly recommended that you arrange your own rental vehicle to move freely inside and outside the estate. Only transfers arranged through the Tenuta Umbra Concierge Team are permitted to access the estate. Check-in time is from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, while check-out is by 10:00 am. A minimum stay of 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday is required, except for last-minute requests. Short stays and daily rates may be available in other seasons upon request. The property is ideal for exploring the estate on foot or by bike, and you can request transfers within the estate through the concierge service. A tourist tax may be required upon arrival according to local municipality regulations.

The property, which traces its origins to the remains of a 16th-century tower later converted into a farmhouse, has been meticulously restored using indigenous materials and traditional local craftsmanship, resulting in a residence of rare authenticity and refined character. The grounds extend across approximately 700 square metres of private park, offering a tranquil and beautifully maintained outdoor environment where you can unwind in complete privacy. A stunning swimming pool occupies the most panoramic position on the estate, commanding sweeping views over the well-tended countryside and the Renaissance skyline of Montepulciano. Parking is conveniently available near the main entrances of both the villa and the annex, at the end of the driveway, while Wi-Fi internet connectivity ensures you remain comfortably connected throughout your stay.
Outdoors
The outdoor spaces of Casale Dei are a seamless extension of the property's natural and architectural beauty. The private park, covering around 700 square metres, is a carefully tended garden enlivened by tall cypresses, ancient olive trees, fragrant lavender and rosemary bushes, and an array of colourful potted flowers. Please be aware that photographs of the garden were taken in spring, so the appearance of the grass and flowering plants may vary depending on the season of your arrival. Along the front façade of the main house, 2 elegant porticos frame the exterior, one of which is fully equipped as an outdoor dining area, perfect for long alfresco meals in the warm Tuscan air. A second porch outside the dining room further extends the living space into the open. The annex, situated approximately 10 metres from the main house and adjacent to the pool area, also benefits from direct access to the outdoor grounds. The non-heated swimming pool is the undisputed centrepiece of the garden, positioned in a quiet and discreet corner of the estate that frames a particularly captivating panorama of surrounding vineyards and the distant borgo of Montepulciano. The rectangular pool measures 11 x 5 metres, with a depth ranging from 1.10 to 1.60 metres, and is lined in PVC with chlorine purification. Access to the water is provided via elegant Roman steps, while the surrounding border and sunbathing terrace are finished in travertine marble. Sunbeds and a gazebo are provided for your comfort, along with a nearby hot and cold-water outdoor shower. The swimming pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

Casale Dei is configured to accommodate a maximum of 12 guests across 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, distributed between the main house and a separate annex. The main house is arranged over 2 floors connected by an external terracotta staircase. On the ground floor, the main entrance, accessed beneath one of the front porticos, opens into a welcoming living room. To the right, the living room connects to a fully equipped kitchen, a pantry, and a dining room, from which a French window leads directly out to the alfresco dining portico. Continuing through the living room, a hallway leads to the sleeping area, which comprises 3 double bedrooms, each with a divisible bed arrangement and a private en-suite bathroom. Of these 3 bathrooms, 1 features a whirlpool tub, 1 is fitted with a shower, and 1 includes a bathtub. The external staircase between the 2 porticos leads to the first floor, where an open-plan living and dining area is complemented by a kitchenette. This floor accommodates 2 further bedrooms: 1 double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and 1 twin bedroom served by a separate bathroom with shower. A laundry room is also located on this level, accessible from the outside. The annex, situated approximately 10 metres from the main house and next to the pool area, is a single-floor structure comprising a living area with a kitchenette and 1 double bedroom with a private bathroom with shower. Please note that the fireplace present in the property is ornamental.

Guests are warmly encouraged to visit the estate's extraordinary underground cellar, constructed entirely in travertine and featuring a remarkable spiral-shaped entrance that has been described as a true architectural masterpiece. The cellar is located approximately 5 kilometres from the farmhouse and can be explored via the official website at https://www.cantinedei.it/. Regarding pets, small-sized animals are welcome at the property. Acceptance of animals must be previously authorised by the owner, and guests are required to communicate the number of animals, their size, and their breed in advance. The weekly rental price includes utilities such as electricity, water, and gas for cooking use, as well as weekly linen changes and both initial and final cleaning of the property. The rental also includes the Zer0Dep Guarantee, meaning you are not required to pay a security deposit either on balance or upon arrival.
