Zlatni Rat
Last week, we were looking at Greece's best beaches but one of its neighbours, Croatia, boasts some equally stunning beaches. As there is nothing better to help you relax on a well-earned holiday than lazy days on the beach, here is a list of some of the best places to do just that in Croatia. As the country is stuffed with natural gems, there is really no shortage of options but here are some of our picks of the best of the best….

1. Zlatni Rat

Zlatni Rat, oftentimes called the Golden Cape or Golden Horn beach, is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Croatian coast.
It is regularly listed as one of the top beaches in Europe and the World by tourist guides and it easy to see why. Located 2km from the town of Bol on Brač Island, it is a protected natural gem of immense beauty that stretches out in a distinctive spit from the coast, coming to a point that never looks the same way twice. While it is protected, it also has quite good amenities, with lifeguards on duty in the summer, showers, playgrounds, a cafe, beach chairs and umbrellas to rent and bathrooms on site. Surfers and kite-surfers flock to the beach from all around the globe, so it is also a good spot for more active pursuits. Although it can be busy, it is an extraordinary sight and a great place for a family day out. Just find a vacation rental in Bol and spend some time on this stunning beach for yourself.

2. Nin

Nin, on the Dalmatian coast, is, by contrast, 8,000m long and well off the beaten track for most international tourists. As a result, you are less likely to have to vie for space. A perfect sandy beach that is lapped by beautiful blue waters, it is another unspoiled beauty that has an incredible setting and scenery. Grassy dunes ring the beach and the Velebit Mountains surround, making for a truly awe-inspiring backdrop. In addition to being a beauty, it is also a beach built for relaxation as there are mud spas in the area where you can soak your tired bones and then go play in the sea, or vice versa. What more could you want? Just find a vacation rental in Dalmatia and come visit this incredible beach.

Of course, there are many more excellent beaches so be sure to read on to the next posts in this series.
