If you have already headed out to the district of Cimiez to visit the Chagall Museum, art lovers should set aside to to explore the Musée Matisse as well. Home to hundreds of works by Henri Matisse and situated in the beautiful eighteenth-century Villa des Arènes, this is where you will find one of the largest collections of his work in the world and a truly exceptional museum experience. Bear in mind that, like the Chagall Museum, it is closed on Tuesdays.

Nice has bike share program called Velo Bleu that you can rent bikes from in order to get around the city. Standing out from its surroundings immediately with its colourful and ornate appearance, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city and a must-see. The chapel of the tsarevitch and the Byzantine gardens on the grounds also add to and enrich the experience of a visit.

The grand Place Massena is Nice’s main square and divides the New and the Old Town. With its striking red buildings, checkerboard ground and controversial Fontaine du Soleil, it is an iconic and lovely space and one of the spots that you likely won't miss out on during a visit to the city but, just in case, make sure to stop by!
