Pag Triangle: Where To Spot UFOs In Croatia

Pag Triangle
We're all probably currently dreaming ahead to better and brighter days right about now, when vacations don't seem so far away and, while reading about one of our favourite destinations, Croatia, I came across a rather more unusual tourist attraction; the Pag Triangle. The Pag Triangle is a strange geological phenomenon that can't be explained and features a perfect geometric shape that has just cropped up in the wild and simply looks strikingly bizarre and odd and, therefore, has prompted theories about aliens, UFOs, and other strange happenings...

Located near Novalja, a small town on the moon-like and dramatically barren island of Pag, that is famous as an up-and-coming Ibiza-like party destination with a vibrant nightlife and pretty beaches, the Pag Triangle is a bizarre geological formation in the shape of a perfect isosceles triangle that has baffled and intrigued experts, locals, and tourists alike. What appears to have happened, or what it certainly looks like, is as if some massive, unknown object pressed down on the earth and made this strange impression, though what that might possibly have been, who did it, and why is unknown. This strange site is a bit of a departure from the other attractions on the island and is more obscure and fascinating, drawing all sorts of visitors from all over the globe to see it and puzzle over it for themselves.
Discovered back in 1999, this impression in the earth has somehow remained unchanged in the two decades since then and, to add to the strangeness of the whole situation, the rocks that are inside the boundary of the triangle actually have been found to also have unique properties that differ drastically from those in the surrounding area; seeming to have been superheated at some point. Again, by what or why this happened is unknown. In fact, it would appear that no one at all (or certainly no one who is willing to speak about it or come forward with the information) seems to know exactly what happened here but, obviously, the internet and so-called UFO specialists have their theories; claiming that this is where an ancient alien spacecraft landed. There has, however, been no scientific evidence discovered at the site that can back any of this up and, so, the Pag Triangle, its origins, and who (or what) was involved in its creation all remain a fascinating mystery that may never truly be understood.

The already lunar-style landscape of this barren island, something that has made it popular amongst hikers and photographers, seems like a perfect setting for such a mysterious and alien-like site, which is now a tourist attraction in its own right that many regular travellers and UFO aficionados alike flock to today. If you ever find yourself in Zadar and you're looking for a fun day trip and, perhaps, a potential UFO sighting of your own, then a visit to Pag and the Pag Triangle might be a good idea!

However if you are thinking about visiting the Pag Triangle then you must be prepared and ready to walk, with proper footwear to tackle the rocky and difficult terrain, appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun, and some water to drink along the way. While there was a road built in 2009 that connects both of the villages of Caska and Vidalići to the Pag Triangle, you will still have to trek for a good part of the journey as it is only accessible on foot. When you get there, be sure to take a photo and let us know about your own theories about this bizarre and fascinating tourist attraction!
