If you are spending time exploring the Ionian Islands and have found a villa in Zakynthos, you will discover an island that is just full of stunning views and natural beauty. For those interested in hiking, swimming, cycling, snorkelling, boating, and plenty of other water sports, in getting out and getting active, in taking in gorgeous scenery, it is a truly idyllic destination. However, while these wonderful traits are immediately apparent and reason enough to plan a trip to this special part of Greece and the world, they are not all that there is to the island. There are some other, more unique and less obvious things to see and do that you should definitely make a point to check out while on Zakynthos, such as the island's architectural gems, museums, turtle rescue centre, and more. For the creative types who like to make things and those who love unique, handmade, lovely home goods, in particular, a visit to the Hanne Mi S. Ceramic Art Studio is a must among the island's less apparent attractions!

A villa in Crete means a holiday in Greece full of days of seaside fun, incredibly beautiful scenery, and lots of great beaches to choose from, with some particularly famous and noteworthy examples among them. One of the most well-known, beloved, and interesting of all of the beaches on the island of Crete, however, has to be Vai Beach. This picture-perfect gem is just the kind of incredible looker that one might come to expect of beaches in Crete and it is a wonderful place for some sun and fun but it is also a rather unique example among the other equally lovely strands in the area. Home to the largest palm tree forest in all of Europe, Vai Beach isn't just a pretty place to enjoy a day by the sea, it is an important natural gem of great ecological importance.

A vacation rental in Crete is a wonderful idea for those who love the great outdoors. It is famously home to some truly exceptional beaches and has a diverse and picturesque landscape, both of which afford the natural facilities necessary for all kinds of adventures. Whether you're interested in swimming, kayaking, snorkelling, cycling, walking, rafting, exploring caves, canyoning, hiking, or more, you'll be able to find somewhere to do it while on vacation in Crete. In particular, the hiking possibilities are especially rich and scenic from the wonderful views and range of routes afforded by the impressive peaks of the White Mountains and National Park on the western side of the island, near Samariá Gorge, to the famous and well-trodden canyon trails through Chania and Imbros Gorge. Another excellent and highly picturesque hiking option that is especially magical is the route through Richtis Gorge that ends at a majestic waterfall.

Richtis Gorge is located in a state-protected park near Exo Mouliana, Sitia, in eastern Crete, Greece. Just a few kilometers long and not especially difficult, this is an excellent option for beginners, those with kids in the party, or those looking for something that packs a serious punch. The whole route should only take a couple of hours each way and the elevation difference between the starting point and the beach is about 350 meters in total. The only real concern or consideration to keep in mind is that sections of the trail can be quite steep with stones that make it slippery. Just be sure to take these areas slowly and to watch your footing so that you do not fall. It is also probably a good idea to ensure that you are wearing sturdy and closed shoes to improve your grip and protect your feet.

The Ionian Islands are considered by many to be a true slice of paradise on earth and it's not hard to see why. A group of six larger islands flanked by many smaller satellite islands hugging the West Coast of mainland Greece in the Ionian Sea, this is a land of unbelievably bright hues, stunning scenery, perfect beaches, and large areas that thankfully remain untouched by the intense developments and crowds of mass-tourism. While the island of Corfu was one of the first parts of Greece to begin attracting big tourist crowds, even this part of the Ionian Islands boasts substantial areas that remain unaffected by over-development and many other islands and destinations are very much off the beaten track and hidden gems. It is, however, the great natural beauty of this part of the world that most attracts the visitors who do choose to go for a villa in the Ionian Islands.

If you are looking for some of the most astoundingly lovely coastal towns, unbelievable natural attractions, lush emerald landscapes, turquoise seas, soft sandy white beaches, cloudless and endless cerulean skies, dramatic and gleaming creamy cliffs and rock formations and watercolour sunsets, in particular, then we highly recommend a villa in Zakynthos. With its famous sea caves and turtles, excellent diving and snorkelling, picturesque strands, and more it is, without a doubt, one of the destinations in Greece for those who worship sun and sea. While there are plenty of beaches, in particular, that are worth mentioning and visiting on the island, here is our guide to some of the best beaches to visit while on vacation in Zakynthos...
